Resources: list, view, create, edit

Use the Business → Resources hub to find people, open their detail, add someone new, and keep profiles current.

Outcome

You can open the Resources list, view and edit a person, create a new resource, and know where rates, qualifications, weekly availability, and out of office live.

Who it's for

Planner / company admin

Prerequisites

  • Permission to view Resources (and create/edit if you will change records)
  • Company industries available when you assign an industry on create/edit

Steps

  1. Open Business → Resources in the sidebar (or go to /resources). This is the hub for everyone you can schedule: employees, freelancers, and other resource types your company uses.
  2. On the list: search by name or contact, filter (including by industry when you arrive with ?industry_id=), and switch grid vs table. Management cards at the top open Weekly Availability, Out of Office, Rates, and Qualifications for the whole section.
  3. View: open View on a row (or /resources/view?id=…). Check status, workload cues, out-of-office, and shortcuts into rates, qualifications, availability, and time off for that person.
  4. New: choose Add Resource (/resources/new). Fill required personal fields (at least first/last name, resource type, status), set industry when relevant, then address, contact, banking, and invoicing as needed. Optionally link or invite an app user so they can use the people portal. Save: you land on the resource view.
  5. Edit: open Edit from the list or from view (/resources/edit?id=…). Update the same sections, invite or link a user if missing, and use deactivate/reactivate when someone leaves or returns. Save without rewriting history elsewhere (rates stay on the Rates screens).
  6. Per-row shortcuts also deep-link Rates (?id=), Qualifications (?id=), Weekly Availability (?id=), and Out of Office (?resourceId=). For the full availability walkthrough see People and availability; for time off see Managing time off. Next in this cluster: Resource rates, then Resource qualifications.
