Appearance and localization

Outcome

You open Appearance and Localization from Settings, change theme/layout and region/formats with confidence, and know these continue what Quick Setup / Personal already offered.

Prerequisites

• Access to Appearance (`/settings/appearance`) and Localization (`/settings/localization`)

Steps

1. From the Settings hub under Personalization & Interface, open Appearance (`/settings/appearance`). These choices are personal to you: not company branding. Soft-link: the same kind of theme preference appears in Quick Setup Localization and Personal setup preferences.
2. On Appearance: set Color Theme / palette, Dark Mode (Light, Dark, or System: System follows your OS), Compact Mode, animations, font size, border radius, and keyboard shortcuts as the product shows. Team Members may also see Simple mode here (personal); Resource/Client simple mode is controlled per tenant elsewhere. Changes apply immediately (“Changes applied immediately”). Use Reset to Defaults if you want the stock look back.
3. Return to Settings, then open Localization (`/settings/localization`): page title Localization Settings. Soft-link: you already set language, region, timezone, formats, and currency during Quick Setup; come here anytime to refine them.
4. On Localization: start with Language & Region (region applies sensible defaults for timezone, date/time, numbers, currency, first day of week). Then fine-tune Date & Time (including 12h/24h), Numbers & Currency, and related format preferences. Watch the live preview samples. Changes typically auto-save (status Saving / Saved): you do not need a separate Save on every field. Changing region can overwrite related fields; customize after if needed.
5. Working pattern: Appearance for look-and-feel; Localization for how every date, time, number, and money amount reads across the app. Next in this cluster: security, sessions, and notifications.
