Clients: list, view, create, edit

Use Business → Clients to find customers, open their detail page, add a new client, and keep commercial identity current.

Outcome

You can use the Clients hub, open /clients/client?id=…, create and edit clients, and know how locations, projects, contracts, rates, and qualifications hang off this section.

Who it's for

Planner / company admin

Prerequisites

  • Permission to view Clients (and create/edit if you will change records)
  • At least one company industry when creating a client (client type and industry are required)

Steps

  1. Open Business → Clients (/clients). This is the commercial hub for organizations you deliver for and invoice under.
  2. On the list: search by name, email, contact, city, or country; filter by industry or active/inactive; switch card vs table. Management cards open Locations, Projects, Contracts, Rates, and Qualifications for the section.
  3. View: open View (or /clients/client?id=…). Review organization, contact, address, business info, and validity. From here jump into that client’s projects and contracts, or Edit / Reactivate.
  4. New: Add Client (/clients/new). Fill organization name, required contact email and address fields, client type and industry, and validity (valid-from; leave valid-to open for ongoing). Create lands on the client detail page.
  5. Edit: pencil from the list or Edit Client from detail (/clients/edit?id=…). Inactive clients must be reactivated before edit. Update only what changed, then return to detail.
  6. Row shortcuts deep-link Locations (?client_id=), Projects, Contracts, Rates (?id=), and Qualifications (?id=). Deleting a client with linked work may deactivate instead of hard-delete. Next in this cluster: Client locations.
