Overview: what needs your attention
Start on Overview: see which shifts need action, then jump in one click to the right Shifts tab.
Outcome
You recognize Overview attention rows, know what they mean, and land via deep-links on Open Requests, Pending Actions, or the Invoice Queue: without hunting through the board.
Who it's for
Planner / admin
Prerequisites
- Permission to view Overview and Shifts
- Some live data helps: empty queues hide themselves
Steps
- Open Overview in the sidebar (or go to /overview). For planners and admins this is the operational home after sign-in: not only KPIs, but especially: what is waiting on you.
- Find the attention block. Each row shows a title, a count, often an age band (under 24 hours / 1–3 days / older), and a link into Shifts with the matching tab and filters. Rows with zero work do not appear.
- Typical rows that open Shifts (product labels): “Shifts need assignment” → Open Requests. “Pending assignment” or “Pending request” → Pending Actions. “Change requested” → Pending Actions. “Disputes require review” → disputes. “Pending verifications” → hours waiting for approval. “Awaiting invoicing” → Invoice Queue (`/shifts?tab=ready-for-invoice`) for approved hours not yet handed to billing.
- Click a row. You land on Shifts on the matching tab. Overview scopes the queue; you act on the Shifts board. Pending time-off or document-review rows may also appear: those go to time off or document review, not Shifts.
- Use Overview daily to prioritize (oldest or critical first), then go deeper in this cluster: board and views, create and assign, status confirmations, breaks, and approve hours through to the Invoice Queue. For a short first win, “Planning the first shift” stays in Day-to-day planning.
